Dear Dr Marafih

We have invested in Q-tel an impotant part of our
savings with the impression that it was a strong
company with a promising future

we also received the news of your appointment as COO
with great interest and enthusiasm that your young
and educated leadership would lead the company towards
further progress

Nonetheless, I speak on behalf of many share-holders
that the latest announcement of the company profits
was very disappointing

We realise that an important part of these profits was
deducted as tax to Qatar government which was paid for
the first time this year

It was unclear however whether the full year taxes were
paid in this quarter or there are more taxes to be
paid this year

Your response and clarification would be very
appreciated (particularly if done through the news
media) since many shareholders baught the Qtel share
at around 360 QR and since the announcement of profits
it has been declining till it reached less than 250 on
today`s dealings

بالنسبة لهذه النقطة يا ابو الأسهم
فانني أعتقد ان كيوتل تقوم باقتطاع ال 25% من صافي الأرباح في كل ربع على حده,, وترحلها الى بند استحقاقات دولة قطر من صافي الأرباح مقابل حقوق الامتياز,, وفي آخر السنة تقوم بدفع المبلغ مرة واحدة او على دفعات حسب الاتفاق.. لأن هذه الأرباح قد تتغير في آخر العام سواء بالزيادة او النقصان,, لذلك فهي تقوم بهذه الخطوة كاجراء احترازي..

نقطة مهمة فعلا اذا كان الاقتطاع يتم في كل ربع وتثير تساؤل عن سبب انخفاض ارباح كيوتل في النصف الاول ؟

الأخ فارس نجد

اجمالي أرباح كيوتل التشغيلية بالفعل في نمو متزايد,, ولكني شخصيا أرجع انخفاض صافي الأرباح الى عاملين مهمين وهما
1 - حقوق الامتياز والتي بدأت كيوتل بدفعها اعتبارا من هذا العام بعد اعفاء 6 سنوات.. وهذا المبلغ يعتبر كبيرا حيث يشكل نسبة 25% من صافي الأرباح..

2- المصاريف التشغيلية الكبيرة,, خصوصا بعد فوز كيوتل بالرخصة الثانية لتشغيل الهاتف النقال بسلطنة عمان,, وهذه المصاريف تقريبا تأخذ كثيرا من صافي الأرباح,, خاصة وأن الشركة في طور البداية هناك..

ولكن أعتقد أن الأرباح اعتبارا من العام القادم ستتجه تدريجيا للزيادة عن هذا العام خصوصا بعد اكتمال الكثير من المشاريع التوسعية داخل قطر+ تحسن أرباحها في عمان
