Samsung Galaxy S3 release date has been announced. It is May 3. Meanwhile its expected Specs and features are being talked about across the world
Samsung Galaxy S3 release date seems to be very close now. Samsung has formally announced the launch date of its most awaited smartphone, Galaxy S3. The third version of Galaxy S phone will be unveiled on May 3, 2012 at Earls Court, London. The tech world has been waiting for the Galaxy S3 for a long time.
There were rumors that the super smart phone would come out earlier to fight the new line of Android phones and iPhone 4S. The much-awaited Android Ice Cream Sandwich edition of Galaxy S3 is very close now. However, Samsung hasn’t disclosed anything on the device’s innards and specs. But here we talk about some areas where the new Galaxy S3 may focus on.
Processing performance
It is a time the tech market is looking towards quad core-powered devices. We already have lots of quad core powered smartphones like HTC One X in stores. Not to be left behind, Samsung will certainly include a quad core processor inside its new Galaxy S3. As per leaked information, the new version of Galaxy S3 will come with the next-gen Samsung Exynos 4412 chipset that will clock at 1.5GHz. The Korean tech maker is also working on a dual core Exynos 4212, which is claimed to have 30 percent more efficiency over its previous version in Galaxy S2. It looks like that the company will prefer a quad core option to the dual core one in order to ensure neat performance for its new handset.
New firmware
Needless to say, the new Galaxy S3 will run on the latest version of Android, namely the Ice Cream Sandwich. Of course, Sammy’s Galaxy Nexus debuted the ICS back in December last year. But, it is for the first time a version of Galaxy S is set to come out with the latest edition of Android. The Ice Cream Sandwich has a really stunning interface, smoothness, connectivity speed and much more. Android lovers have embraced the ICS with much fervor and it is now touted as the most advanced version of the firmware.
Body thinness, weight and design
Unlike Apple, Samsung upgrades its products with enough design changes and innovations. Since its original version of the fourth version, Apple has kept the same 3.5-inch display on its iPhone. But in case of Samsung the company often launches wonderful hardware enhancements to its new products. When it comes to the upcoming Galaxy S3, there were rumors that it will be a flexible and large device. We can rightly hope that the new device will be slimmer and thinner than its current version, which has the dimensions of 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm and a weight of 116 grams.
Regarding the display, we can certainly expect the device to feature a large display apart from its current version’s 4.3-inch screen. It is essential in a time the tech markets admire phones with bigger displays. “Since then we have had the even bigger 4.7-inch HTC Sensation XL, the 4.65-inch Galaxy Nexus and the insanely huge 5.3-inch Galaxy Note. The most recent mention of Galaxy S 3 screen size came in a rather dodgy-looking Samsung presentation slide, which claimed the S3 would feature a 4.6-inch screen,” writes Gary Cutlack & John McCann of TechRadar.
Memory
Similar to Galaxy S2, its new version will also feature 1GB of RAM, which is an emerging benchmark for smartphones with Android. Chances are high that the new Galaxy S phone will also get the same capacity of RAM. The Galaxy S2 is available in 16GB and 32GB options. The new Galaxy S3 may also have the same versions. But the confusion is regarding SD card slot. Samsung skipped SD card on its new Galaxy Nexus, which is a big shortcoming. Analysts fear whether Samsung will prefer not to include SD card on Galaxy S 3 as well.
Conclusion
It is high time Samsung releases a new upgrade for its Galaxy S series. Competition in smartphone market has reached to a new level with several new Android-based products hitting the stores every other day. Apple’s iPhone 4S is also doing great in market. So Samsung should roll out Galaxy S3 not to be left behind its competitors.
